When was the
last time you even had the opportunity to view your slides and film
that have been sitting in slide trays and shoe boxes in the closet?
You went to all the trouble to capture your precious memories onto
35mm slides or negatives with the exceptional color and detail that
35mm film format gives you, why would you settle for an inferior
conversion process when moving to digital format.
MPV provides a
professional slide scanning service for your 35mm slides and
negatives using the Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 ED film scanner. This
is a dedicated 35mm slide and negative scanner and will perform
scans from 1000 through 4000 DPI.
We use Digital ICE™ technology that can removes surface defects,
such as dust and scratches, from the scanned image. Digital ICE™
differentiates itself from software-only solutions because it does
not soften, blur or otherwise alter any underlying details or
composition of the original image. The Digital ICE™ technology works
from within the scanner, during the scanning process, to provide
users with a clear, authentic base image that improves the original
image. Using Digital ROC we can automatically restores original
color quality to digital images regardless of the condition of the
original. Digital ROC's™ using a complex set of proprietary
algorithms reads the dye signature in color slides and restores
colors to the appropriate levels. To digitize your slides to high
quality JPEG or TIFF files, we charge between $0.30 to $0.60 per
35mm slide, depending on the resolution required and quantity. The
scan cost is based on time required to perform each scan.
Resolution selection really depends on how you plan to use the
scanned image. If you are going to backup your 35mm slide
collection or doing a DVD Slideshow, go with the JPG file format
using 1000 - 2000 DPI, they are considerably smaller and should
satisfy your needs. As you can see, TIFF files are quite large,
especially in the higher resolutions. If you need true archive or
near-archive quality, I would consider using the 2000 or 3000 DPI
resolution. If you absolutely want the TIFF 3000-4000 DPI scans, we
recommend storage to a high capacity Hard Drive.
Once your
slides have been digitized, we can also produce a wonderful DVD
slideshow from your JPEG slides for as low as $30.00 per DVD disc.
See DVD Slide Show for details.
